A charter dispatcher's morning
It's 6am and the charter dispatcher opens AviationAlley to today's trips on the ops board — each leg tied to its crew, aircraft, and trip-sheet briefing. The first release page assembles the current METAR/TAF, NOTAMs, and fuel on one printable sheet, with pax and cargo weight captured alongside them (the CG math itself still runs in the dispatcher's own W&B process, not on this page) — so the crew shows up to a briefing that's already built instead of a stack of printouts from three sites.
Before assigning the next trip, the dispatcher checks the crew duty board — duty and rest derived from shifts and the flight log — so legality is read off the screen, not from memory under time pressure. A pilot's recurrent is near its cliff on the currency timeline, and an open MEL deferral has rolled to expired, which raises a dispatch banner so the aircraft doesn't fly on a busted item.
A repeat client's flight gets a token tracking link the customer opens without a login, and the invoice for last week's trip takes card or ACH straight to the operator's account. By the time the first wheels-up nears, the day is dispatched, legal, and billed from one workspace rather than four.
