🇦🇺Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA)

AviationAlley for Australia.

CASA Part 141 / 142 / 135 / 121 — Australia's modern regs are structured almost identically to the FAA's. AviationAlley feels at home here. Add the multi-base module for operators running between Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, and the regional hubs.

FAR ↔ Civil mapping

Same operation, different label. AviationAlley's module-gating system maps cleanly onto Australia's regulatory structure.

US (FAA)Australia (Civil)What's similar / different
FAR Part 141CASA Part 141Aeroplane / helicopter PPL/CPL training schools. Naming convergent — substance very similar.
FAR Part 142CASA Part 142Sim-based training organisations. The same module structure works without re-labelling.
FAR Part 121CASA Part 121Regular Public Transport (RPT) operations. Flight & Duty Time Limitations differ from FAR 117 but the four-window structure matches.
FAR Part 135CASA Part 135Small-aeroplane air transport (charter + on-demand). Similar to FAR 135 in scope, slightly different MEL rules.
AAIPCASA Part 42 CAMOContinuing airworthiness management organisation — large-aircraft maintenance regime under Part 42.

Compliance + audit posture in Australia

CASA Parts 141, 142, 135, 121 are the modern-rules suite that replaced the older CAR/CAOs. The naming overlap with the FAR is intentional — CASA based its rewrite on the FAR-Part structure. AviationAlley's module-gating model maps onto CASA Parts 1:1.

Questions Australia-based buyers ask

Does it work in the Australian timezone set?

Yes — every booking carries a center-level timezone (configured in setup wizard) and timestamps are stored in UTC. AET, ACST, AWST, AEDT all work without custom code.

Can I sync with Airservices Australia data?

Weather + NOTAM data sources are pluggable. The default FAA adapter doesn't cover Australia; the Airservices Australia adapter is partner-credential, scoped per customer.

What about pricing in AUD?

Pricing displays in AUD when the locale is detected. Stripe Connect supports AUD billing natively. Enterprise contracts can be quoted in AUD with USD reference.
