Part 147 · In development · Q1 2027
Competency tracking
In development, targeted for Q1 2027: per-student, per-subject competency tracking across General, Airframe, and Powerplant. Built and in testing — not yet enabled in production.
Launching the first quarter of 2027.
Illustrative — every screen reflects your own data.
Who it's for
An AMT school instructor who, once this ships, would have where each student stands in each subject area on the record rather than as a judgment held in their head.
What it replaces
Per-subject competency held as a judgment in an instructor's head rather than on the record — replaced once this is in production.
What competency tracking gives you
- In development for Q1 2027 — built and in testing
- Per-student, per-subject competency tracking
- Across General, Airframe, and Powerplant
Per-student, per-subject competency across General, Airframe, and Powerplant — in development for Q1 2027
This capability is in development, targeted for Q1 2027 and built and in testing — not yet enabled in production. Once it ships, an AMT school would track competency per student, per subject across General, Airframe, and Powerplant, so where each student stands in each subject area is part of the record rather than a judgment held in an instructor's head. Until it's in production, competency is tracked outside the platform.

Part of the in-development AMTS module, not today's training engine
Competency tracking is part of the in-development AMTS module, not the training engine that ships today. As planned, subjects would span General, Airframe, and Powerplant per student, and where a student stands in each becomes part of the record. Until the module is in production, competency is tracked outside the platform — these are the school's own competency records, and AviationAlley does not grant FAA credit or issue any certificate.

How an operator uses this
This capability is in development, targeted for Q1 2027 and built and in testing — not yet enabled in production. Once it ships, an AMT school will track competency per student, per subject across General, Airframe, and Powerplant, so where each student stands in each subject area is part of the record rather than a judgment held in an instructor's head. It's part of the in-development AMTS module, not the training engine that ships today; until it's in production, competency is tracked outside the platform.

How it works
Competency tracking, step by step
Planned: track each student's competency per subject.
Planned: subjects span General, Airframe, and Powerplant.
Planned: where a student stands in each subject becomes part of the record.
Planned for Q1 2027 — built and in testing, not yet enabled in production.
Questions
Competency tracking — frequently asked
Does it track AMTS competency by subject yet?
