IATA ULD pool

AKE, AKH, AAY, PMC, PAG, P1P, P9P, plus a CUSTOM bucket. Tare + max gross feed W&B.

Per-flight manifests

AWB + shipper + consignee + weight + pieces + ULD assignment + position. JSON line items for flexible reporting.

ULD inspection tracking

Operator-configurable inspection cadence, styled on AC 120-85 practice. 30-day amber banner ahead of the due date.

Hazmat tags

Class 1.4S, 9, etc. — surfaces on dispatch sheet for segregation compliance.

W&B-ready cargo data

Manifest weight + position totals are the input a W&B calc needs — not yet wired into an in-app dispatch W&B screen.

Tracked lifecycle

BOOKED → STAGED → LOADED → FLOWN → OFFLOADED. Damaged + MISSING flag alerts.

FAQ

What ULD types are supported?

IATA AHM types: AKE / AKH / AAY (LD-3 variants), PMC / PAG / P1P / P9P (main-deck pallets), and a CUSTOM bucket for operator-defined formats. Each carries tare weight + max gross.

Does it track AC 120-85 inspection cycles?

Yes — each ULD has a nextInspectionDue field that surfaces in a 30-day amber banner before it's due, so it's flagged well ahead of the deadline instead of missed. AC 120-85 itself is FAA guidance describing an acceptable inspection approach — its own text says it's "not the only means" and isn't a regulation — and its ULD content is event-driven (before build-up, before dispatch, after unloading, at interline transfer), not tied to a fixed annual interval. The cadence tracked here is an operator-configurable inspection schedule you set as good practice, not an FAA-mandated annual requirement.

How do hazmat shipments work?

Each cargo line item has hazmat + hazmatClass fields. Manifests with hazmat surface a hazmat indicator on the dispatch sheet so the captain can verify segregation rules.

Can it feed weight and balance?

Manifests capture total cargo weight and per-position assignments — the input a weight-and-balance calculation needs — but that handoff isn't wired into an in-app dispatch W&B screen today. The platform's CG engine exists (it's what runs the public /preview/weight-balance demo), but no authenticated cargo or dispatch flow calls it yet with the manifest's numbers.

Status lifecycle?

BOOKED → STAGED → LOADED → FLOWN → OFFLOADED. Damaged + MISSING are off-path states that surface alerts. Audit log records every status change with actor + timestamp.
